Ingredients

1 cup balsamic vinegar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, pour in the balsamic vinegar.

Add the brown sugar and whisk together until fully dissolved. If using, add in the honey for extra sweetness.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The glaze should reduce by about half and thicken to a syrupy consistency.

Add the salt and black pepper, stirring to combine, adjusting sweetness or seasoning to taste.

Once it reaches the desired thickness, remove from heat and let it cool.

The glaze will continue to thicken as it cools. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Prep Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: Makes about 1 cup
