Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut bread (Challah, Brioche, or your choice)

2 large eggs

½ cup milk (whole or any preferred type)

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp ground cinnamon

A pinch of salt

Butter (for cooking)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Fresh berries (optional, for topping)

Powdered sugar (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a pat of butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides well, but avoid soaking it too long to prevent it from falling apart.

Place the soaked bread slices on the hot skillet or griddle. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.

Adjust the heat as necessary to ensure that the French toast cooks evenly without burning.

Once cooked, remove the French toast from the skillet and keep warm.

Serve immediately with warm maple syrup drizzled on top, and garnish with fresh berries and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
