Ingredients

8 oz. lo mein noodles

1 lb. flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

2 tablespoons sesame oil

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated

1/2 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

2 green onions, chopped for garnish

Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Lo Mein Noodles: Boil a pot of water, add the lo mein noodles, and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with a little sesame oil to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Beef Marinade: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to tenderize the meat.

Blanch the Broccoli: In the same pot of boiling water used for the noodles, blanch the broccoli florets for 1-2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat. Add the marinated flank steak and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it's browned and just cooked through. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.

Aromatics & Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the beef broth, remaining soy sauce, and the cornstarch slurry. Bring to a simmer until the sauce thickens.

Combine Everything: Add the blanched broccoli and cooked lo mein noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat in the sauce evenly. Add the beef back to the skillet and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until combined and heated through.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein!
