Ingredients

8 ounces of breakfast sausage (links or patties)

1 package (8 ounces) of crescent roll dough

4 large eggs

1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)

1/4 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Optional: fresh chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.

Prepare the Sausage: If using sausage links, cook them according to package instructions until browned and fully cooked. If using patties, cook in a skillet over medium heat until they're brown on both sides and cooked through. Allow them to cool slightly before handling.

Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Lay them flat on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they do not overlap.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Assemble the Pigs in a Blanket: Place one sausage link on the wider end of each triangle of crescent dough. Sprinkle a little cheese over the sausage. Roll the dough around the sausage away from you, making sure to wrap it tightly.

Add Egg Mixture: Before sealing the tip of the dough, use a spoon to drizzle a small amount of the egg mixture inside, then continue rolling to completely enclose the filling.

Bake: Once all the pigs in a blanket are assembled, brush the tops lightly with the remaining egg mixture for a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and flaky.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a couple of minutes. Serve warm, garnished with chopped chives or parsley if desired.
