Ingredients
  

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup pecans, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

    In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

      Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.

        In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon (if using).

          Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

            Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips if desired, ensuring an even distribution throughout the dough.

              Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each for spreading.

                Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers appear set but slightly soft.

                  Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
