Ingredients

1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning mix

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup diced tomatoes (drained)

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Salsa and sour cream (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add Taco Seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning mix and follow the package instructions, adding the recommended amount of water. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.

Prepare Filling: Remove the skillet from heat, let cool slightly, and then mix in the shredded cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, black olives, and green onions.

Unroll Crescent Dough: Open the crescent roll dough and unroll it on a flat surface. You should have a rectangle shape; pinch seams together to form a unified dough sheet.

Cut into Strips: Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut the dough into strips about 1 inch wide.

Fill and Wrap: Place a tablespoon or so of the taco filling mixture at one end of each strip. Roll the dough over the filling tightly, sealing the edges as you go.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place the rolled taco sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden color.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with salsa and sour cream on the side.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 8 sticks
