Alfredo sauce has its roots in Italy, specifically in Rome, where it was created in the early 20th century by a restaurateur named Alfredo di Lelio. The original recipe was a simple yet rich combination of butter and Parmesan cheese, designed to create a creamy consistency that could coat pasta beautifully. This dish, known as Fettuccine Alfredo, quickly garnered popularity among locals and tourists alike, especially due to its indulgent flavors.

Ingredients

2 cups cooked rotini or penne pasta

2 cups cooked chicken breast, cubed

3 cups broccoli florets, steamed

3 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, cubed chicken, steamed broccoli, and Alfredo sauce. Stir until everything is well coated.

Season: Add garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the mixture. Adjust seasoning according to your taste.

Layer the Bake: In a 9x13 inch baking dish, pour half of the pasta mixture on the bottom. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese over the mixture. Then, add the remaining pasta mixture on top.

Top with Cheese: Spread the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top layer.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to prevent browning) and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish: Once out of the oven, allow to cool for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top before serving.

Serve and Enjoy: Scoop portions onto plates, serve hot, and enjoy your creamy Chicken Alfredo Bake!
