Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

2 medium onions, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

1 tablespoon ginger, grated

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked white rice (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prep the other ingredients.

Heat the Wok: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes without stirring, then stir-fry until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In the same wok, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften. Then, add the minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add Vegetables: Toss in the sliced bell pepper and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the veggies are tender-crisp.

Combine Beef and Veggies: Return the beef to the wok, mixing well with the vegetables. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the beef is cooked through.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot over cooked white rice. Enjoy your flavorful and satisfying meal!
