Ingredients

500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

1 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

1 cup bell peppers (mixed colors), sliced

1 red onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp ginger, minced

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: Marinate the sliced beef in a bowl with soy sauce and rice vinegar; let it sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Coat the Beef: In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, baking powder, black pepper, salt, and chili flakes. Remove the marinated beef from the marinade and coat each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Fry the Beef: Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the coated beef in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Stir-Fry Vegetables: In the same pan, add the sliced bell peppers and onion, stir-frying for about 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Add the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.

Combine Beef and Sauce: Add the crispy beef back to the pan. Pour in the sweet chili sauce and toss everything together, ensuring the beef and vegetables are well coated in the sauce, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately with steamed rice or noodles.
