Ingredients

1 ½ lbs ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

½ cup milk

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

½ cup ketchup (for glaze)

2 tbsp brown sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a lightly greased 9x5-inch loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.

In a separate small bowl, mix the ketchup and brown sugar together until smooth. Spread this glaze mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps it hold its shape and juices.

Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
