Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 can 10.5 ounces creamy mushroom soup
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions plus extra for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and blanch the green beans for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the creamy mushroom soup and whole milk. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, stirring until smooth.
  • Combine the blanched green beans with the soup mixture in a large casserole dish. Fold in half of the crispy fried onions and half of the cheddar cheese.
  • Spread the mixture evenly in the casserole dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, until bubbling and cheese is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle remaining crispy fried onions on top.
  • Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until onions are crispy.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a rustic presentation, serve in the baking dish or transfer to a decorative serving dish.
