  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar for icing
  • 2 tablespoons milk for icing
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for icing
  • mini chocolate chips for eyes and buttons
  • orange candy corn or orange icing for the nose
  • red and green icing for scarves

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
