8 ounces fettuccine or spaghetti

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and fresh black pepper to taste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional for brightness)

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

    Make the Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

      Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

        Incorporate Cheese: Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet while continuously stirring until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to achieve your desired consistency.
