1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 tsp fresh dill, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving:

Pita bread or flatbreads

Sliced tomatoes

Sliced red onions

Chopped lettuce

Instructions

Prepare the Ground Beef Mixture:

    - In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

      - Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, around 5 minutes.

        - Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

          - Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 7-8 minutes.

            - Stir in oregano, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the spices to blend into the beef thoroughly. Remove from heat and set aside.

              Make the Tzatziki Sauce:

                - In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill.

                  - Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well until all ingredients are combined. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld.

                    Assemble the Gyros:

                      - Warm the pita bread or flatbreads on a grill or in a pan for a minute.

                        - Spoon a generous amount of the ground beef mixture onto the center of each pita.

                          - Top with sliced tomatoes, red onions, and chopped lettuce.

                            - Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and sprinkle with fresh parsley before folding the pita over.

                              Serve:

                                - Serve the gyros immediately while warm, with extra tzatziki on the side for dipping.
