Ingredients

4 medium-sized apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

1 tablespoon melted coconut oil or unsalted butter

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

A pinch of salt

Chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) for topping (optional)

Greek yogurt or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Apples: Core and slice the apples into thin wedges or rings (about 1/4 inch thick), leaving the skin on for added nutrition.

Season the Apples: In a large bowl, combine the apple slices with lemon juice, melted coconut oil (or butter), honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss well to ensure the apples are evenly coated with the mixture.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure not to overcrowd them.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the apples are tender and slightly caramelized, stirring halfway through for even cooking.

Add Toppings: If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts over the apples during the last 5 minutes of baking for added texture and flavor.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm, with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side for a deliciously healthy dessert.
