Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup apple cider

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar (for coating)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard donut pan with non-stick spray or butter.

Reduce Apple Cider: In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the apple cider to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer until it reduces by half, about 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and reduced apple cider until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently with a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.

Fill the Pan: Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The donuts should be lightly golden.

Cool: Let the donuts cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Coat the Donuts: In a shallow bowl, mix powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar. Once the donuts are cooled, roll them in the sugar mixture until fully coated.

Serve: Enjoy your irresistible apple cider donuts warm or at room temperature with a cup of coffee or cider!
