Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen blueberries, thawed)

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

2 tbsp milk (to adjust icing consistency)

Instructions

Activate the Yeast:

Begin by warming the whole milk in a small saucepan over low heat until it reaches a warm temperature (be careful not to boil it). Once warmed, remove from heat, stir in the granulated sugar and yeast. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

      Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Stir the mixture together until a cohesive dough forms, using either your hands or a wooden spoon.

          Knead the Dough:

Lightly flour a clean surface and transfer the dough onto it. Knead the dough for approximately 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and set it in a warm spot to rise for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.

              Prepare the Blueberries:

In a separate bowl, combine the blueberries with the lemon juice and gently toss to coat. This will enhance the taste of the blueberries and prevent them from sinking in the dough.

                  Create the Cinnamon Sugar:

In another bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon, mixing well to ensure they are evenly incorporated.

                      Assemble the Monkey Bread:

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into 20-24 equal pieces. Flatten each piece slightly, add a few blueberries in the center, and pinch the dough closed to seal. Roll each piece into a ball.

Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated, then layer the balls vertically inside a greased bundt pan.

                            Final Rise:

Cover the bundt pan with a towel, allowing the balls to rise again for about 30-45 minutes until they have become puffy.

                                Bake:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the monkey bread for 30-35 minutes, or until it is golden brown on top and cooked through. If you notice it browning too quickly, tent the bundt pan with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning.

                                    Prepare the Icing:

While the monkey bread bakes, prepare the icing by mixing the powdered sugar with enough milk to achieve a smooth, drizzling consistency. Set it aside until ready to use.

                                        Cool and Drizzle:

Remove the monkey bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for approximately 10 minutes. Carefully invert it onto a serving platter, then drizzle the prepared icing over the warm monkey bread for an extra touch of sweetness.

                                            Prep Time: 30 mins | Total Time: 2 hrs 15 mins | Servings: 8-10

Optional Presentation Tips: For an elegant touch, garnish with additional fresh blueberries and a sprinkle of lemon zest before serving. This will add both color and a refreshing hint of flavor!
