Ingredients

2 lbs pork shoulder, thinly sliced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch piece of ginger, grated

2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean red chili paste)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, gochujang, rice vinegar, vegetable oil, and black pepper. Mix well until the sugar dissolves and all ingredients are fully integrated.

Marinate the Pork: Add the thinly sliced pork shoulder to the marinade, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer to a zip-top bag. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Preheat the Grill/Pan: If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. For a stovetop option, heat a large cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat with a little oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Pork: Remove the pork from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off. Grill the pork slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely charred and cooked through. (You may need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding the grill/pan.)

Rest and Garnish: Once cooked, remove the pork from the grill/pan and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Serve: Enjoy your Korean BBQ pork with rice, lettuce leaves (for wrapping), and your favorite side dishes like kimchi, pickled radishes, or coleslaw.
