Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)

1 teaspoon rice vinegar

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

4 green onions, chopped (white and green parts separated)

1 cup cooked jasmine rice (or your preferred rice)

1 cup thinly sliced carrots

1 cup broccoli florets

Sesame seeds for garnish

Optional: Kimchi for serving

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add sesame oil and ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

Flavor it Up: Add minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, rice vinegar, and black pepper until smooth.

Combine: Pour the sauce over the cooked beef. Stir well to coat all the meat in the flavorful sauce. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Sauté the Veggies: In another pan, add a splash of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the sliced carrots and broccoli florets, sautéing until they are tender-crisp, about 4-5 minutes. You can also cover the pan to steam them slightly.

Serve it Up: In a bowl, start with a base of jasmine rice. Top it generously with the spicy Korean ground beef, followed by the sautéed vegetables.

Finish with Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. If desired, add a side of kimchi for a perfect Korean touch.

Enjoy: Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Korean Ground Beef Bowl!
