2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup granulated sugar

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ cup buttermilk

2 large eggs

4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

3 tbsp whole milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Optional: food coloring or sprinkles for decoration

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a donut pan or use a silicone donut mold.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

      Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

        Combine: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter will be thick.

          Fill the Donut Pan: Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full to allow room for rising.
