Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

3/4 cup milk (or plant-based milk)

1/4 cup plain yogurt (or sour cream)

2 tablespoons olive oil (or melted butter)

Optional: herbs, cheese, or spices for flavoring

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using). Mix well until evenly combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, yogurt, and olive oil until smooth.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough begins to form. If you desire extra flavor, fold in herbs, cheese, or spices at this stage.

Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 2-3 minutes until it becomes soft and pliable.

Divide the dough into small equal portions (about 4-6 pieces). Shape each piece into a round or flattened disc, about 1/2 inch thick.

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the dough discs in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd them.

Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip them over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.

Remove from the skillet and keep the bread warm in a clean kitchen towel while you repeat with the remaining dough.

Serve warm with butter, olive oil, or your favorite dips.
