Ingredients

1 large sourdough loaf (unsliced)

8 oz Brie cheese, cut into small cubes

1 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 egg (for egg wash)

Sesame seeds, for topping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Bread: Using a serrated knife, cut the sourdough loaf into a grid pattern, making diagonally spaced cuts without slicing all the way through the bottom. Be careful not to cut all the way through the bread.

Mix Filling Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the Brie cheese cubes, cranberry sauce, and chopped rosemary. Season with a bit of salt and pepper to taste.

Fill the Bread: Gently pull apart the cuts in the sourdough loaf and spoon the Brie and cranberry filling into each slit. Make sure the filling is evenly distributed throughout the loaf.

Brush with Butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the bread, ensuring it seeps into the cuts and enhances the flavor.

Prepare for Baking: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of the loaf for a golden finish. If using, sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Bake the Bread: Place the filled bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, allowing guests to pull apart chunks of the cheesy cranberry bread for a delightful appetizer or side dish.
