Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup milk (or herbal tea, brewed and cooled)

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or almonds)

1/3 cup dried fruit (e.g., cranberries or raisins)

Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.

Prepare Butter: Add the softened butter to the dry mixture and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend it in until crumbly.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk (or cooled herbal tea), egg, and vanilla extract.

Mix Ingredients: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the chopped nuts and dried fruit.

Shape the Buns: Lightly flour your hands and scoop out portions of dough to form into small, round buns (about the size of a golf ball). Place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown on top.

Cool and Serve: Allow the buns to cool for a few minutes on a wire rack. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
