Ingredients

1 box of vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)

1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 cup whole milk

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Fresh fruit (e.g., sliced strawberries or peaches, for topping)

Ground cinnamon (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Cake:

    - Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box.

      - Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish.

        - In a large bowl, prepare the cake batter according to the box instructions.

          - Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.

            - Bake as directed on the box until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the dish.

              Make the Tres Leches Mixture:

                - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk until well combined.

                  Soak the Cake:

                    - Once the cake has cooled, use a fork or a skewer to poke holes evenly all over the top of the cake.

                      - Slowly pour the tres leches mixture over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes. Allow the cake to absorb the mixture for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator, preferably overnight.

                        Prepare the Topping:

                          - In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream with a hand mixer on medium speed until it begins to thicken.

                            - Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

                              Assemble and Serve:

                                - Once the cake has absorbed the milk mixture, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top.

                                  - Decorate with fresh fruit and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, if desired.

                                    - Slice and serve chilled, enjoying the creamy, sweet layers of flavor.
