Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup buttermilk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp vanilla bean paste

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

For the glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

In a separate bowl, mix the buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and vanilla bean paste until smooth and creamy.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Transfer the donut batter into a piping bag or a large zip-top bag, cut off one corner, and pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the donuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the donuts cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Adjust the thickness by adding more milk if necessary.

Once the donuts are cool, dip the tops into the glaze and set them back on the wire rack to let the glaze set.

For an extra touch, you can sprinkle chopped vanilla beans or white sprinkles on top of the glaze.
